In 2006, Stephanie and I selected Marc Waddell and the team at Mountain Home and Hearth to build our dream timber frame in Blowing Rock, NC.

Although this 12 month project was a long distance effort mostly coordinated over the phone and internet; Marc’s responsiveness, flexibility and professionalism were a consistent reassurance the job was getting done right...the first time.

We absolutely love our Marc Waddell home and consider Marc not only our builder, but a good friend.

We look at our relationship with Marc not as our builder, but as an extended member of our family. Even months after the completion, Marc will stop by or call us just to see how we are doing. Looking back, we can honestly say that we made an excellent choice.

My spouse and I have always dreamed of owning a log cabin. When we decided it was time to build, we shopped around and landed with Marc Waddell because we thought he would provide the quality,dependability and responsiveness we were looking for in a contractor. And, it turns out, we made the right decision!

Building the cabin took about a year and we did it mostly "long distance", using fax, telephone, email. Marc was always easy to work with, responsive, had great ideas, and delivered a quality product. We continue to be amazed when we walk around our cabin and note the quality of the workmanship, and the details that count.

And Marc is STILL there for us! If we have any questions about our cabin or need some advice on maintenance, Marc is always quick to respond. The experience of building can be tense, but Marc makes it easy!
